What is a typical work day in your current position?
Easy questions, but they will try and intimidate you. You meet with a recruiter and then a sales manager. Like on the phones, your answers have to be quick, but all you have to do is show that you can communicate effectively.

I have an extensive background in outbound call centers. Having to deal with C-level decision makers and known to be coachable, it was the reason why a senior corporate recruiter reached out to me.
Phone screen: went pretty well.. they simple ask you the "why sales?" , Tell me about yourself(common questions) Then the deets on what the role is and for NYC salary is $31500 non negotiable... However ote is apparently $85k with average $50-60k.. first six weeks you could get fired if you don't make four sales. They'll just deem it as your not a good fit.
Moving on to the face to face: here's where it gets weird. When meeting the recruiter it's literally a breeze.. same questions core questions. "Tell me about a time things went wrong. " Quite honestly, all you need to do is seem like not only will you hit the OTE of $85k but you'll make $90k+. If done correctly thier eyes would fully open with love since they know they're going to be receiving a commission check for you as a recruiter. This is where they'll send over a manager and BAM.. you've got the job. Although it could seem as if I received an offer.. I didn't. A couple days later the recruiter called. Being that I've been in outbound tele-sales for a while I immediately realized that the conversation wasn't going to go well. So I got ready to ask for feedback. (asking for feedback or closing at the right time could really make a person say things they really shouldn't ) the recruiter in a shocked voiced said the reason I didn't tell get the position was because I pronounced the company as "Home Advisors" vs "Home Advisor" and that it didn't fair too well with the manager. Looking back on that day, being that they have frat boy's club company culture and how that extra "s" sound bypassed the senior recruiter, who has been in her position almost as long as him. I'm confident that it dealt more with my Hispanic decent since I do know I have slight accent that I can't do much about.
