First interview was short with recruiter and went well, he was friendly and professional, pretty basic questions about why I would like to work for the company and my previous experience. I was then asked to take an IQ and personality test which I took that evening and the next day I was told I scored in the top ten percent of applicants. I was then moved on to the final interview in which the recruiter prepped me and said that I was well prepared and he felt I would do well. As soon as I got on the zoom call with the sales manager, she immediately was off putting. She was very condescending and referred to me as a "job hopper". When I explained that I had been laid off twice with the majority of my company and all of my team due to budget cuts, first when covid hit (after being with the team for almost two years and being promoted during that time) and the second time due to budget cuts because of rising interest rates, (again with the majority of my team minus the managers and being there almost two years) I was also a high performer there and ran the whole market for our state. she asked what I would have done differently to not be laid off. I wasn't sure how to answer that as I was a top performer and mostly everyone was laid off. It felt as if she was implying I did something wrong to be laid off or could have prevented it in some way which wasn't really the case since these jobs were effectively eliminated as the company was a start up and was going under. I explained that I am very dedicated and a hard worker and would have never left if it would have been up to me. I also encouraged her to please take a look at my LinkedIn recommendations which highlight my work ethic and top performance. She made it clear she didn't feel I was a good fit. She also didn't seem to understand that real estate is primarily a sales position and was concerned that I wouldn't know how to handle rejection or that I would be able to cold call people, however I tried to explain that I was rejected many times for various reasons when selling as that is all part of the game in real estate, as well as cold calling is expected. Bottom line, she came across as very close-minded, pretentious, ignorant of other sales roles and borderline rude. I went ahead and tried to end the interview as professionally as possible, answered all of her questions and personally did the best job I could do. I was very disappointed because I knew I was well qualified for the position but could tell she did not agree for whatever reason. The interview lasted an hour and a half. I received a form email the next day stating I didn't receive the position. I had already decided it probably wasn't the best fit due to her personality, she didn't represent the company well. Hopefully, other sales managers there are more personable and do not make others feel bad at a difficult time in a lot of people's careers. Another thing to mention is that she was not originally supposed to interview me but was brought in last minute as the original interviewer was promoted so maybe she was annoyed by having to interview someone on late notice, I'm not sure.

What are skills that are important in a a sales role?
she asked me why i was laid off and why I have had more than one job in the past five years. I'm in real estate tech so I considered this a very odd question.
Initial interview that seemed to mostly just ask confirming questions that were restatements of the job posting. It seemed like a screening call meant to just weed out people who had no idea what the job was and no tough questions.
Pretty straight forward interview process. First and final interview with hiring manager after the initial screening call. Standard interview questions along with a quick role play to see how you overcame objections. Received an offer but declined.

Describe a time where you faced an objection and how you overcame it.
Very informal. They called over 30 minutes early and caught me off guard. Interview felt more like they were reading me a script than interviewing me. Overall it was an easy interview.
