I found the opportunity through my business school career services so I was able to contact the hiring manager directly. We spoke briefly over the phone and he indicated I'd be the last one they'd look at. Two days later HR called to set up an in-person interview, which required travel (flight and hotel) accommodations. They wanted me to provide 10 references as soon as possible, but due to the compressed time frame, I was not able to. I met with 5 or 6 people that the position would interact with from several different departments over the course of 3 hours. A couple of the interviewers said that I'd have no problem handling the work, even though I had never had a similar job before. At the completion of the interviews they said that a decision would be made by the end of the week.
