After applying online, I received an email to set up a phone screen, which was pretty generic and what you'd expect. After that went well, they had me complete a take home assessment which involved testing how you would deal with a pipeline of coach applicants. I found this test strange because the parameters were extremely vague, so I just did my best with it. I ended up being successful with the take home assessment and was asked to participate in a video interview with two of the members of the team that I would be joining.
This is where it got a bit odd. One of the interviewers was on time and generally positive, seeming interested in actually talking to me. The other interviewer was late and seemed very uninterested in the conversation. I was asked to talk through my rationale for the assessment and how I approached it which seemed redundant given that I very clearly explained all of my answers in the assessment itself, leading me to wonder if the interviewers actually looked at my deliverable at all. As I began to walk through it, they said they would pause to ask me questions, however I left them several openings to do so, and they didn't once do it. I found it very awkward that it ended up being me essentially restating what was already in my deliverable.
The interview ended in me asking questions. A few days later, I received a brief email stating that I was no longer being considered. Overall, it was an okay process, but it's pretty obvious that it is still unpolished, which did not surprise me given the other Glassdoor reviews.
We are so sorry you felt this way. As we continue to hire new roles and work with our teams to build out positive interview processes for such searches, we will definitely keep in mind that specific communications on each stage of the process will elevate our candidates' experiences. BetterUp's interview process was one of the best experiences I've had compared to any other company I was interviewing for.
Its very organized and well thought out. The recruiters also take time to answer any questions and truly want to set you up for success before each interview!
While its a fairly long process, it shows that they really take the time to get the best candidates for the role.

The interview process was long BUT so purposeful! I felt like I was able to make an educated decision about the position being the right fit for my skills and also my personal goals. Each interview was interested in me as a person and a contributor to the culture in addition to traditional skills and other contributing factors to success in any position. There was an initial interview, a skills assessment, a contact with a recruiter who supported you through the entire process, an onsite interview day consisting of 5 different interviews including a 2-on-1 peer interview (SO fun!) and a final interview with one of the co-founders!

This is a lengthier interview process, but you will feel informed throughout!
There's an initial conversation, a take home, a power day (think 6-8 different interviewers), and an interview with the COO before you get to the offer.
BetterUp is intentional about making a good technical and community hire, and you'll feel the hard work they put into their recruiting once you join the team.
My main recommendation is that there's more context provided for the power day of interviews (what to expect with each interviewer).
