I was contacted by a recruiter about the position and I applied online. The interview process began by a call with the recruiter, followed by a video interview with the hiring manager, and then two panel interviews via video with two team members each. The process ended by the recruiter letting me of a decision to move forward with another candidate via a LinkedIn message. The message was cold-shouldered as exclamation marks were used in stating the decision to move forward with another candidate. This provided confusion since a reason was not provided as to why there was a strong preference in not moving forward with my candidacy, The recruiter provided feedback on the decision, citing specific experience that was preferred. The feedback was concerning as the experience cited as the reason was not stated, listed, or described within the job description of the posting. Nor was this specific experience brought up during the interview process. The job description did not seem to match the experience that was sought in the ideal candidate as it focused around Product Management experience where the feedback indicated instead of a strong preference to industry experience. Some of the interview questions were based on inaccurate inferences about my experience by merely the job title.. There seemed to be much subjectivity in the process. Product Managers beware as there appears to be preference to industry experience in the hiring process albeit the job description may state otherwise.

Initial call with recruiter to see fit and interest in the role, role description, etc 1st round with hiring manager and discussion about company, product and what product acumen you bring 2nd round with various product and other team members 3rd round with HR head and CEO (maybe) Very good interview process and recruiter keeps in touch
