Colloquio per Web Links Specialist and Digital Activations

      9 mag 2019
      Candidato anonimo a colloquio
      Phoenix, AZ
      Nessuna offerta
      Esperienza negativa
      Colloquio difficile

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite segnalazione di un dipendente. La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso DoorDash (Phoenix, AZ) nel mese di apr 2019

      Colloquio

Manager 2 came in more nervous than me and actually said he hates interviews while he was trying to log in and answer his Skype messages. Manager 2 gave a long-winded preface to his questions which made me have to ask him what he was trying to ask me, which only made him give me a look that said I shouldn't be asking him to clarify what he is asking me. It felt weird because he really couldn't communicate what he was asking me. Manager 3 was overly prepared (I didn't think it was possible) to the point where she left out being warm and delightful to the person being interviewed. When I finished answering 1 question, she immediately began asking her next question and, I purposely slowed down on one of my responses and it threw her off, which only confirmed my theory. The whole thing just felt awkward and like I was wasting my time because all 3 interviewers clearly were not on the same page with their goals in hiring someone. Manager 1's facial expression and closed hand gestures informed me that she was not interested with interviewing especially at that particular time because she made it clear that she should be out there with her team, not here with me interviewing... (understandable but, it's just not something to voice or show your hand like that during a new-hire interview.) Manager 2 was too nervous. So nervous he admitted he hates doing interviews on both ends. I had no idea what to respond with other than awkward nod and thinking, "did he really just say that?". I foolishly fell into their complete disorganization and lack of actually wanting to go through the interview process, I felt my mindset internally begin to diminish and felt like I was wasting my time and what was crazier was when they asked me one of the things I liked about Doordash and I actually gave a truthful answer about how much I respect and want to be part of a company that helps the homeless, because I experienced that myself as a young adult and what I got back was a feeling that she assumed I was just making things up. I felt disheartened in sharing such personal information only to get an eyeroll response. Also, I think I saved the best for last when the recruiter, told me there would be commissions and then when I followed up with Manager 2 about it he held back a laugh and said "no, there are no commissions, who told you that?" I responded that my recruiter mentioned it. Well, this manager did apologize and said they want to pay someone hourly only and no commissions and to be able to do their backlog work. When I received my notice that they decided to move forward with other candidates, I asked for feedback on why I wasn't hired in hopes I can be a better candidate in the future. A different recruiter responded saying they would get back to me, I was 2 days and followed up again. I never received a response as of today.
