I was contacted via LinkedIn by a recruiter with DoorDash. I was excited about the prospect of interviewing for the company since he and his colleagues seemed eager to hear about my experience. However, after scheduling and confirming a phone interview with them, I did not receive a call. I followed up via LinkedIn AND email to let them know I was waiting for them to call, and to confirm our schedule (even though I was looking at the calendar confirmation right there). No response. I’ve been through many rounds of interviews with different companies and have even received offers from some of them. I have never had this happen. If you express interest in a candidate, then you need to show up and take the time to invest in us. We take time out of our days to study and prepare for interviews. No matter what round they are! It shows a lot about a company, that you’re willing to “ghost” a candidate after having something confirmed in the books. I hope this does not become a pattern with future prospects.
