I was reached out to over LinkedIn by the hiring manager. We had an initial call with pretty standard behavioral questions that went well, and I moved onto a technical video screen which involved a 30 min SQL interview and a 30 min case interview. For the SQL interview, the questions we worked through were fairly easy but I was a bit slow so we could have just not gotten to more difficult questions. Specifically, my interviewer probed me on useful metrics and the pros and cons of what I came up with. Overall, I felt that I did OK although I did miss one question pretty badly and sometimes rambled a bit. The case interview was a fairly standard management consulting-type problem where the interviewer presented a vague, large problem, asked me how to solve it, and led me through specific questions related to the problem. I thought this interview was straightforward and went really well. In the end, I didn't get moved on because of the SQL interview. While the case interviewer was friendly, the hiring manager and SQL interviewer both really put me off. They had fairly dismissive attitudes and didn't care to get to know me, and I don't think I would have accepted the offer if I received one. Also, while this was a Data Scientist position, based on the interview process I thought it was more of a Product Analyst position, but I guess those two are conflated quite a bit at some companies.
