Before the first interview: - A week after the application was submitted, I received an email which said they moving me forward in the interview process; within the same email I got a link to reserve a slot for the interview over an app On the day of the interview, half an hour before the scheduled meeting, I got an email from the interviewer, saying that they have a conflict and that they won't be able to join the call - Within the same email, they asked me to reschedule for the day after, and send my availability - I said no problem and immediately sent my available time span for tomorrow - I never received an answer, and they never confirmed the meeting for tomorrow - Next day I sent a follow-up to confirm if we still plan to have the meeting that day; again, no answer - Next week I noticed that on the app over which I had applied, it said that they hired and the position is already filled - I sent a follow-up email for clarification and to send an email that it would be nice to communicate better with candidates, and not leave them hanging, after asking for available time slots; also noted that I saw that the role was filled - After my follow-up, they asked if we can reschedule for next week (this is already 10 days after the initial meeting date) - I confirmed and we rescheduled The introduction interview: - They asked 4-5 of the usual questions that you get in introduction interviews (some of them are mentioned below) - They told me they will get back to me during the week, if they will want to continue the interview process, and that the next step would be a technical interview and assignment - No meaningful feedback on our fit was given After the interview: - They got back to me after 2 days, and said that they decided to hire someone who has more experience with serverless architecture and worked in a startup (mind you, as far as front-end devs role with serverless architecture can go, I have the experience and had elaborated my experience to them during the interview; Also, I worked at a startup) - Their email said they will get back to me if they have a role which is a better fit for me (a front-end developer role, at which I have 7 years of experience, and they are searching for a mid level dev) Feedback for the company: This interviewing process was one of the most bizarre, frustrating and unprofessional ones I have experienced, and I never wrote a single review of this kind before. I still took the interview very seriously, ignoring the whole mess before, and gave you the benefit of the doubt, because I know there could have been some circumstances that could have caused it. Even if that where the case, this was handled really poorly and unprofessionally.
