I was invited by a team member of the team I was supposed to work with. We had the interview remote through a video call. Right from the start, I felt out of place and as if I were only there to be beaten up. At no point did I have the feeling that she was seriously considering me for the position. Right from the start of the first interview, the interviewer gave me extremely complex case studies that I was supposed to solve within a minute. At times, I received cautiously positive feedback on my solutions, as if she was surprised that I could have come up with such an apt idea. I received a rejection shortly afterwards without any further feedback. The headhunter who looked after me in advance then told me that the position had been open and unfilled for almost two years. He had already delivered countless suitable candidates, but no one had ever been hired. He said that the lady probably had very specific criteria that might not even be available on the job market at the moment. In any case, it was a miserable experience with an employer of such size and reputation.
