I applied online and few weeks later, got an email from the recruiter. and scheduled an interview via email. talked 30 minutes with a user experience designer at google, asked me about my design process, portfolio, previous experience and did some design exercise. didn't make it to the next step
I had 3 rounds total. 1st round was with HR, with the remaining rounds being with the Head of Product and the tech teams. The last round was the hardest, as I had to do a portfolio review

3 rounds of tech discussion which I cleared with a positive feedback but suddenly recruiter disappeared and when I reached out for further rounds she mentioned that they have got a internal candidate for this position. Never thought Google will be such an unprofessional organisation.
I didn't make it to the interview part of the process. I highly recommend knowing someone or going through an actual recruiter if you'd like a job at Google. Cold applying online is harder to to secure a job.
