I applied on-line. Received e-mail to schedule phone interview 2 days later. Had very good phone interview and was told my resume would be forwarded to the hiring manager who would get in touch with me when he returned from vacation. I received call from hiring manager 2 weeks later and scheduled face-to-face. I was interviewed by hiring mgr and another mgr from a different department. Mgr. began the interview by telling me that he felt I would be bored with the job (from this I determined that I would not get the position). He stated that he was 'entrenched' in his position and was not planning on moving out. He explained that the vacancy was due to another employee leaving after becoming frustrated that there was no promotional opportunities within the department. He again stated that I would be bored with the position, as it was only a portion of the job I was doing with my current employer. He described his family situation to me and stated that he was not looking to move to another department.
