Colloquio
Referred after talking to many employees at the company. First round was a video interview where you are presented with a question for 30 seconds and then given a certain amount of time to answer. I found the format to be very awkward, and you didn't have much time to expand on your answers to the questions.
Second round was a general phone screen with some basic questions about why HubSpot, why support, tell us a time you taught someone something. The recruiter I worked with was very nice and helpful.
Third round was a role play/demo. They gave you some homework assignments to complete in the software which you had to explain to the interviewer how you did. Then they gave you a new assignment that you had to complete on the spot. Last part you had to do a role play where the interviewer was a hubspot customer calling in and you had to help them solve their problem.
I appreciated that the recruiter did a feedback call after this to discuss what you did well and things to work on before going into your final round.
Fourth and final round was three 30 minute interviews with managers. 2 out of the 3 were lovely. Very nice, easy to talk to. Had great conversations. The other manager was extremely unfriendly, unwelcoming, and painfully awkward. Literally read the interview questions off a laptop.
I left the interviews thinking I definitely got the job. I had a really great connection with the 2 managers and still thinking I did a good job fielding the other manager's questions. They said they would get back to me by the end of next week but it took them a few days longer than that. Rejection email was generic but I appreciate their offer to have a follow up call to discuss their decision. Turns out they didn't give me the job b/c they thought I didn't have enough experience. I thought this was ridiculous because they could've told me that in the beginning just by looking at my resume. No need to drag me through 4 interviews and waste weeks of my time. I also could clearly operate the product and interact with customers based on the role play/ demo. Even more frustrating because I didn't get any negative feedback after that role play interview. I could clearly do the job well and am still puzzled about why I didn't get it.
Since then, I've seen people with less experience than me get the job, which is even more infuriating. Who knows what goes into their hiring formula
The hiring process consists of an initial HR interview to assess cultural fit, followed by a technical interview to evaluate skills, and concludes with three separate one-on-one interviews with different managers expecting STAR responses.
