The process was very good but I think at the end someone drop the ball. I got feedback directly from the recruiter every step of the way, but at the last step I simply got an automatic email saying that they had decided not to move forward with my candidacy. To be honest I was expecting an email from the actual recruiter, even if it was just to say they had chosen someone else for the role. An automatic email kinda ruins the experience. Other than that, it was a good experience overall.

The job was initially posted on LinkedIn. I reached out to the HubSpot staff member that posted it in order to introduce myself. After that, I followed the job description link and then applied directly from their website. Within a day, I had an email response and a request to send writing samples. To note, that experience was very pleasant, friendly, and consistent with all of my interactions with HubSpot. Within two weeks I then had the pleasure of working with a Senior Recruiter at HubSpot. She was remarkable. She provided a candidness and interest in ensuring the conversation was a valuable use of time for the both of us. During the call it was quickly identified that the compensation I needed was not a match for this role. I wish I was in an opportunity where I had more financial flexibility. However, that is not the case. The recruiter then made the conversation more of an opportunity to get to know me, my experience, and love of HubSpot so she could pass me along to the right recruiting team. In my opinion, this was exceptional and appreciated. I believe this experience is yet another positive reflection of how great HubSpot is. I truly hope that, in the not too distant future, an opportunity presents itself. If you're looking to apply here, I have no doubt you will have an equally excellent experience.
