The first interview was with a recruiter who did not seem to have any interest in talking to me so I was surprised when I received a notification that I would talk to somebody else. I thought it was odd that this person would report to me and not be the hiring manager. The second conversation was not so much an interview as a series of questions around "how I would manage a pre-sales team". About 10 minutes into the "interview" I suspected all this person wanted was to understand how to do the job. Sure enough, I received a generic email two days later saying they're "moving forward with another candidate". The person who interviewed me, now has that job title. They're a growing company trying and likely trying to promote within, so save yourself some time and check to see that they actually have somebody with the job title they're hiring for before talking to them.
