This position was with Instacart's Ad product team, outside of the larger grocery delivery business.
Applied online, received an email for interview a few days later:
1. first round with HR
2. second round with hiring manager
3. analytical exercise to be finished within 2 days - it was during the week so be prepared to burn some mid night oil.
The exercise was just a whole bunch of data with a brief description of what they are, and you are expected to analyze it and come up with any insights and recommendations you can gather
4. on-site interview with four members of the team, including hiring manager, her boss, two other people who you will be working with closely
The on-site interview was very well organized - they even gave free uber rides and instacart coupon. everyone was on time, friendly, showed high interest in my past experience and encouraged me to email them if I had questions.
The hiring manager was very personable and treated my inputs with respect
The recruiter returned emails in a timely manner and provided feedback on my interview performance upon request.
Coming from someone who DID NOT get an offer, I would still recommend everyone to consider applying to Instacart, and don't be shy to ask them for feedback.
