The hiring process included an initial overseas call with HR, followed by a technical and quantitative interview, then a hiring manager call. The offered salary seems below my expectations. But overall is a good experience

30 min phone screening followed by a 5-hour on-site interview. The phone screening involved basic questions about statistics, machine learning, SQL, OO, and UNIX. During the 5-hour on-site interview, I was interviewed by everyone in the Data Science team and they went over my projects and spoke about my previous work experience. There were statistics and SQL white-boarding problems as well, and they also asked generic machine learning questions. It was really long but rewarding. They made sure I was not too overwhelmed by the length of the interview.

Create a diversity index for NYC restaurants based on cuisine, using the given features.
Phone screening and then on site interview. Met all team members during the onsite interview for about and hour with each team member. Most of the interviews were technical in nature. One interview had programming exercise. Other interviews involved discussion of data science/ data mining/ machine learning problems.
