Colloquio
Recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn. Here were the rounds -
1. Recruiter Screen
2. Hiring Manager
3. Ops Manager
4. Peer
5. VP of Success
6. Final round of case study with two managers + VP
Recruiter didn't display any emotion so it was hard to get a read on whether or not I was being moved forward to the next rounds. I've had recruiters in the past be a lot more helpful and share insights etc. I didn't get the sense that I was being setup for success. The VP didn't make our initial scheduled call and cancelled a few hours prior. Also, the last case study round, the VP was a no-show which at that point I knew I wasn't going to get an offer. The case study required over 5 hours of prep and I didn't get a clear understanding of their expectations before heading into it. The feedback given after on why I wasn't chosen was quite vague. Overall, I was disappointed with the fact that I spent so much time preparing for the case study and the VP didn't even find it important to join the call. Also, found out on the final presentation that they hired a new person which the new hire would report to. It was never communicated previously that they are in the process of getting someone new and the person that I was interviewing with initially is not the person I would report to. Overall, I think the team is pretty disorganized and does not value people's time and effort.

Applied online, received email to schedule a screening call a few weeks later. A day or so after the screening call received email to schedule interview with the hiring manager. She was great, very professional, asked relevant questions. About a week later was notified that I didn’t make it to the next round.
Communication throughout the process was great, they have an online portal to track application status, and on the whole I felt like their process was much less dehumanizing than I’ve come to expect from tech companies.
I have no clue what the process is because their recruiters refuse to offer me even a simple screening. I'm a 17-year SaaS veteran with 9 years in customer success, and my experience is very well aligned with their roles—yet I receive an instant rejection (likely from their applicant tracking system).
While watching women continually land roles here and at other organizations all over LinkedIn, I'm convinced that Klaviyo is practicing discriminatory hiring practices based on age and gender. Everyone is beginning to understand that "DEI" often means fewer men and more women. It's just a matter of time before the ship rights itself and companies start focusing on productivity and employee retention again.

The interview process at Klaviyo was straightforward. I did only an initial recruiter screening and a conversation with the hiring manager. Both discussions were professional and gave a basic overview of the role and expectations.
