My friend currently works there so I gave her my resume and used her as my reference.
A month later, I got an email from the hiring manager for an interview.
The interview was pretty easy. She started off by talking to me about my availability, why I want to work here and where I would prefer to work in (grill, cashier). Then, I ended off asking 4-5 questions. She told me that she'll e-mail me either the same day or the day after if I got in or not.
On the same day, she e-mailed me that I got accepted into the job. She told me to come in for an orientation.
The orientation is basically a time where you learn the basics of the job, information, payment (etc.). Mine lasted for 3 hrs but the time can vary depending on what McDonald's you're in. You usually receive your uniform and bring in your SI (Social Insurance Number) and a photo id (passport, health card etc.) in the orientation.
On your orientation, you get paid because it counts as a shift.

The interview consists of a few Basic questions to test your understanding of customer service. Very relaxed approach to hiring and you typically hear back very quickly(within a few days )
Phone call. Then in person interview, if it goes well they'll do a background check. Very streamlined process, it isn't difficult. They mostly care about what hours you are free.

Very simple questions, about school, personality etc. Then we went straight to discussing availability and it was as easy as that. They aren't looking for much so you don't need to do much.
