      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 4 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Procter & Gamble (Cincinnati, OH) nel mese di mag 2011

      Colloquio

I applied at P&G on a whim in February, and then heard nothing from them. A friend of mine sent out feelers in mid April (I didn't follow up as I'd secured another position) only to learn that I had applied to the wrong job posting, of two identical job postings. They rectified the mistake and transferred online test scores to the new account and then the phone interviews commenced. The phone interviews were extremely laid back. P&G cares about hiring passionate employees, so make sure you're passionate in a relevant way. If you can find a way to make them intrigued and display your passion after passing the online tests, nothing should be that difficult. My main point of discussion for most of the 2 phone interviews was something that isn't mentioned on my resume, and will probably never have a place on my resume, so I'd guess they liked that I was able to speak about it so fluently and clearly frame my answers (STAR/CAR method). For the onsite they flew me to Cincinnati, paid for transit to and from the airport, paid for 4 meals, and put me up in the Westin Hotel. The onsite interview consisted of another intelligence test (pattern recognition in shapes, deductive reasoning word problems, and math word problems if i remember right) that was around 40 questions in 60 minutes. After that I had a 1:1 sit down with a guy to talk about where he was in the company and answer any questions I had. I had some good questions, but I was still reeling in awe at the magnitude of a company 130k people strong that sells basic consumer goods and how people can find their place in it. Then I had a interview with a couple guys. One was asking behavioral questions, the other was a bit more technical. It was similar to the phone interviews, but they pretty much hit point for point on my resume. It ended with the more technical interviewer asking me "So why should we hire you?" I was a little taken aback at first, but then I thanked him for being direct and said something about how i want to provide creative solutions that bring value to a company. I then had a few questions prepared for them that I asked. That ended, and then another guy came in to tell me about what he did. He pretty clearly articulated what he did and I was becoming strapped for questions. We ended and then I went out to lunch with a nice young guy who would turn out to be my manager. It was extremely informal, which is good as I was exhausted. He asked me if I wanted to meet his first manager, and I hopped on the opportunity (no matter how tired you are, it's usually best to network as much as possible). I had a quick discussion with her about her positions and Cincinnati as a town, and then she escorted me out the door.
