      Colloquio per Materials Engineering

      18 mar 2009
      Candidato anonimo a colloquio
      Cincinnati, OH
      Nessuna offerta
      Esperienza neutra
      Colloquio difficile

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite un selezionatore. La procedura ha richiesto un giorno. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Procter & Gamble (Cincinnati, OH) nel mese di mag 2008

      Colloquio

i applied online and emailed a recruiter who had come to my school. during the online application you have to do a personality test. i did a 15-20 minute phone screen and was contacted by a hiring manager within the week. i did another phone interview with a manager from the department, and was asked hypothetical questions ranging from where do you see yourself in 5 years, to a question asking what i would do if i found sour milk in my fridge ( i think they were looking for scientific thought and reasoning). all of the questions during both interviews were situational,or asking for examples of past leadership performance and experience working with teams and in group scenarios. i was then contacted to go to cincinnati for a day interview in person. they put me in a hotel, and i met with an employee of the company for dinner. she worked in the department that i would be working in. she explained more about her job, and the expectations of the company. the next day i met her for breakfast and went to the building with her. i was seated in a small room, and was interviewed first by two peer-employees who i would work with, and then giving a briefing of the position of a manager in the department. finally i interviewed with the manager of the entire department, who had multiple specific questions for me regarding my experience and my future expectations of the job. i was then taken to lunch by the original host employee and 2 other people from the department. when we returned from lunch, the hiring manager let me know that he had discussed my interview with the other interviewers, and they felt as though i did not have enough experience or interest in the field (which was correct- i was not an engineer nor did i have an engineering interest) . the position that i was applying for was never fully explained until i got to the on site interview.. during the phone interview and the online applications, the job description was very vague, leading me to believe that it would be more consumer based than development based. either way, it was a difficult interview and took an entire day. the work culture there is very odd, and they are looking for a specific type of personality that will work well in the environment. at the end of the interview, they told me i had the right personality type, but that they felt my interest level wasn't high enough for me to succeed in the position they were hiring for, and encouraged me to apply for other jobs at the company. i did not do that, but everyone seemed very nice--sometimes overly nice and bordering on creepy.
