Colloquio
Initially I had a phone conversation with someone from HR to get more information on my background. Then I had a first interview with the Tech Lead and a Junior Developer, which was focussed on my background and experience, and talking about the role. This lasted about 30 minutes. The second interview was with the Tech Lead and Product Director. This lasted about an hour, and I was given a technical challenge to complete ahead of time. 90% of the interview was spent discussing the technical challenge, with the remaining 10% spent discussing non-technical aspects of the role. Communication from HR was excellent throughout the process, I felt like they actually wanted me to do well and succeed which is refreshingly unusual. I felt like they were looking for the right candidate and willing to put the work in to find them. My career path into software was a bit atypical and I felt like the interview process was set up to accomodate people with different technical backgrounds e.g. by allowing responses using any programming language or framework (even pseudocode). The focus was on if you were able to justify your decisions, and explain what you'd done and why.
