Online application requiring a cover letter and resume. Telephone interview the following week. The interview was relatively informal and there were no substantive or in-depth questions. The purpose was to get a better idea of the candidate's background and whether they might be a good fit. The tone was relaxed and there was room for jokes. Eager for the candidate to ask questions.

Started with a phone conversation with a recruiter to talk about my work experience. Followed up with an in-person "life story" interview with the recruiter a few weeks later. There was then a third round a few weeks after where I had 4 back to back interviews in one day with current members of the department. A few days later, I received a call from the recruiter to let me know I hadn't been chosen but they were positive and encouraged me to consider applying again in the future. I think the whole process from first contact to last contact was around a month and a half. Definitely different than what I'm used to but a positive experience.
