I applied online and received a response from a recruiter a few weeks later to schedule a phone screen. However, the recruiter was 12 minutes late to the 30-minute phone screen and apologized, explaining that their previous call had run over time. This late start and lack of punctuality created a negative first impression. Moreover, the interview process felt rigid, with the recruiter asking questions from a checklist without much engagement or follow-up. When we reached the scheduled end time, the recruiter hurriedly ended the call without allowing any time for my questions. This was particularly odd considering their initial lateness, which had already shortened the scheduled time. The recruiter promised to provide next steps by the end of that week, but it has been over 2 weeks without any follow-up. Overall, the experience was highly unprofessional and not representative of a company I would want to work for. This is especially disappointing considering the reputation of Slack as an innovative product.
