I was reached out to by a recruiter after applying online for the role. It was listed as a remote position in the US. The initial email also said "We’re currently working remotely with employees across the country and plan to continue this way." I started the interview and about halfway through was told the position was only for candidates willing to relocate to DC. This was after completing an exercise, researching the company, and spending time interviewing.
