I went through a PM interview at Sourcegraph where the focus was on product thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. The conversations explored how I prioritize features, work with engineers, and understand user needs, all within the context of a developer-focused product. It was a mix of strategy and execution questions, aimed at seeing how I’d approach building and improving their tools.

Interviewing took over a month and I met with the CEO more than once. Two recruiters from Sourcegraph were managing the process and both just stopped answering emails. The process was a huge time investment from both sides. It's puzzling why'd they waste so much time and then not even follow up. Feels like I dodged a bullet though since based on other reviews. Looks like they are rather unprofessional and have ghosted other applicants.

For product managers there are multiple stages. It starts with a recruiter screen, then a detailed interview with a peer to go through the work history. Following that there is a presentation of past projects to a panel including members from the product team, design, and engineering.

The first couple of interviews were good (HR and technical). The people were pleasant. Due to a switch up on their side my application either got lost or something, I never heard back from them.
