I applied online and received an email within 3 days to set-up the first screening interview with the recruiter. That phone call went well, so the recruiter set-up a second phone call with the person who was acting as the hiring manager, but who would ultimately be more of a mentor and colleague rather than my supervisor if I was hired. That interview went well, too. So well, that the hiring manager was using language that showed they were picturing me in the position. "I could see you doing a really nice job in task X" for example. The amount of time between the first and second phone interviews was short - only about 5 days. Then 10 days went by and no word, so I emailed the recruiter asking about the status of the position and offered to send follow-up, supplemental information if they needed it. She responded a few days later saying that they were still reviewing the applications and that the candidates were "fantastic". She reassured me that I was one of the "fantastic" ones. I did hear back from the recruiter about three weeks later asking to schedule my third phone screening, this time with someone in Product Marketing. We had that phone interview and it went well enough, but I couldn't get as good a read on this person as I had on the others. I sent my thank you email the moment the call ended. And then, I was ghosted. I sent the recruiter a follow-up, status check-in email about a month later. No response. Ghosted. My last contact with Sprout Social was my third phone interview.
