The process is mostly typical, an initial recruiter call, followed by a one hour Coderpad session, an onsite interview, and then I had two final back-to-back 30 minute video interviews. The onsite interview was about 4 hours and 45 minutes long, divided into 30 minute and one hour sessions.
I applied for a general Backend Engineer position, and then only during the onsite interview did I find out they brought me in for a Growth Engineer role working heavily around advertising metrics. That wasn't really the kind of role I was interested in, and I would have preferred to have been told this much earlier in the process.
After the onsite interview, I had two final video interviews where I was asked questions that were more specific to the growth role instead of technical questions.
Shortly after the final interviews, the recruiter setup a call with me to tell me that they were going to extend me an offer and that I'd receive the full details within a few days after I sent them my references. Regardless of the role itself, I wanted to at least see the offer details, so I sent in my references. And then, absolutely nothing from their end. I never received the details of the offer, the recruiter never responded when I asked for an update, and my references were never contacted.
