Applying to Whatnot involves a tedious and long multi-stage process. It begins with a pre-screening interview conducted by HR, lasting approximately 30 minutes. During this initial interview, you will discuss your background, previous experiences, problem-solving skills, and reflections on past successes and areas for improvement.
If you pass the pre-screening, you will be invited to a second interview with a category manager, typically based in the United States. This interview will primarily focus on your experience working with influencers, as Whatnot's current growth strategy relies heavily on leveraging high-profile influencers to attract new customers.
The next stage involves an interview with the hiring manager. Unfortunately, in my experience, this stage was notably unprofessional. The hiring manager appeared uninformed about the candidates, unaware of my background, and repeated questions from previous interviews. This lack of preparation and interest was evident from the start, and the feedback provided was unprofessional.
The entire hiring process consists of approximately six rounds. For candidates outside the USA, the salary offered is above the European average, which is a significant incentive for applicants.
