I am fully aware that startups require a high level of enthusiasm from the employees, but interview with Wolt was like an MLM meeting and it created a huge level of discomfort. What the hiring manager praised was a very veiled picture of lack of cooperation, staying in one’s own silos, and overlapping duties. While wearing many hats, growing pains, and a certain mess are inevitable and to be expected in young companies, this should be a phase and not the ultimate goal. A VP who so openly admits wasting resources like time and talent of his employees is a proof that structures are rotten. For a role that’s very creative at
its core, the requirements and expectations are stifling and absolutely hindering. I lost interest very quickly and it must have shown because I received rejection before I was able to withdraw my application.
