Recruiter reached out on LinkedIn. Recruiter was very slow to respond and would miss things in the email like not CC-ing people. Had a phone tech screen like a month later, fairly easy DFS question. Recruiter said I did great and moving to on site. I didn't even get to chose the roles I was applying for, they just decided to give me 2 options for front end roles that I didnt even want. I said I wanted to do backend but the onsite interviews were all React which is dumb. Recruiter took forever to get back to me. They said the frontend roles were a no but a backend role was interested. Had the initial call. Had another offer expiring so I told the recruiter if we could speed things up. Just ignored my email. Then like a week later after I accepted elsewhere the recruiter wouldnt stop bugging me that the backend role was ready to move forward. All the sudden getting a quick response was important. After considering just ghosting the recruiter, I politely told them I accepted elsewhere and there was no reply or "thanks for wasting your time with us". The backend role was php too, which is a dying language... Now I'm just ranting lol. I will never interview with Zillow again.
