Colloquio
My interview experience at payever was excellent from start to finish. The process was well-structured and fair, with interviews focused on real technical scenarios instead of trivia. I was asked about designing scalable services, debugging strategies, and practical problem solving — all very relevant to everyday engineering work. Throughout, the interviewers were friendly and encouraged me to explain my thought process, which made the conversations feel like genuine technical discussions. Communication was clear at every step, with timely updates and transparency about expectations and remote-work options. Overall, the interview left me feeling respected and excited about the role.

Applied via LinkedIn and received a challenge link. The process is practical: No whiteboard DSA. I had to build a functional backend module. After clearing, I had a 1-hour technical deep-dive with the Lead Developer discussing my implementation, specifically focusing on MongoDB schema design and asynchronous communication (RabbitMQ). The final round was with the CTO regarding product mindset.

Asked questions about my submitted task, how would I change the architecture if this specific microservice suddenly received 10x the traffic? Walk us through your caching strategy (Redis) and database indexing.
I went through their interview process and found it quite rigorous but fair. The interviewers asked thoughtful technical questions, focusing on realistic scenarios rather than trivia — which felt refreshing. The tone was supportive; they encouraged me to explain my thought process rather than just give “right” answers. After the interview, I got feedback quickly. Also, they were transparent about expectations and remote-work options from Day 1. All in all — a smooth, respectful, and motivating interview process.
