Amazon is a data driven company where metrics are valued. This in itself is not a bad thing. However, management cares about metrics and nothing else, includes the quality of the work done. Rather than spend time to properly analyse a problem and perform the correct fix, employees are penalized through their metrics for taking the time to investigate the issue as opposed to implementing a quick fix / patch / workaround in order to resolve the ticket. Because the work was rushed or even falsified, the ticket will likely re-open earning yet another possible ticket (and bump in metrics) for people to work on. Management will push you to close a certain amount of tickets per day. As soon as that target is reached, they will ask that you close even more tickets, then more until you burn out. Additionally, you will be asked to work on side projects (earning you no metrics) completely unrelated to the tasks you were hired for, such as janitorial duty. When project work has deadlines and you must invest more time to complete them, expect no flexibility from managers, as you are still required to close your daily quota of tickets. Amazon measures the amount of time each task takes. You could be penalised by working on a replacement, and suddenly needing to use the bathroom, thus slowing down your work. The work environment is toxic and the turnover rate high. Your colleagues are all competing to catch the 'easy' tickets, leading to disputes and frustration. One of the managers at my site was routinely rude to others and condescending when being asked for clarifications or help on an issue. Recruiters were dishonest. This is not work which requires in depth IT skills, the bulk being replacing RAM, Hard Disks, and other defective components. Moreover, many processes are automated and you are encouraged to simply follow workflows rather than attempt any troubleshooting. If you are considering joining as a Data Center Tech and have many years of technical experience, you will be quite frustrated here. Moreover, as this was a position overseas, the recruiters promised foreign language training. Upon arrival however, management informed me that language training was not offered on a regular basis and that I would not be able to participate due to it being in a different location. This despite me having raised this specific question on more than one occasion during the recruitment process. In summary, avoid this company if you can. Amazon truly is an awful place to work. Staff are considered as disposable where they'll work you with little compensation until you get frustrated, quit, and ultimately replaced with someone new. Rinse, Repeat.

Devi essere auto motivato. NESSUNO ti terrà per mano e ti dirà che stai facendo un ottimo lavoro. Se hai bisogno di continue affermazioni da parte del management, questa azienda non fa per te.
