This often results in consultants being staffed/extended on projects that do not fully utilize their skill sets, much less challenge them. -Many consultants remain at the same clients for extended periods of time. -Main paths to career advancement are through taking on management responsibilities as opposed to increased technical proficiency. -Employee development is treaded as something to be handled in addition to 40+ billable hours each week. Offering internal projects, training, tech challenges and other extracurricular development opportunities is not helpful for people trying to maintain work/life balance. -Mediocre pay/benefits -The combination of these factors is leading many of the most talented individuals to pursue opportunities elsewhere
