Vantaggi
I joined Collibra more than 6 years ago, when it was a <100 ppl company. I have always appreciated the can do mentality and the no nonsense culture that was typical for Collibra. While groing the company, the founders have done a great job at always bringing in experienced people at the highest levels to make sure ever phase of growth was guided by people that 'did this before'. However while growth was the goal, the Collibra culture was always top of mind. This is why even today while we count 1000+ Collibrians, still it is a fun place to work, where people are listened to and a lot of energy and money is spent on retaining people, getting a sense for how they feel and trying to remove impediments and negative influences. Dealing with the Covid crisis is a good example of how Collibra has always tried to keep people happy or more importantly sane while they were confined to their homes. With extra free days, budget that each individual could spend on what they needed most to make their home working experience as good as can be and even mental coaching and access to psychological support was made available. A company that puts the people first and guards its culture while growing really fast.
Svantaggi
As with every company in this phase, growth comes with a lot of change. This means people in the same job will have to approach it differently in the different phases of the growth. While this is not necessarily negative, it is challenging and not for everyone. One remark on the Culture. While the collibra values are very good and well guarded, at this phase of growth and internationalization, it is important to pay attention to how these values are implemented differently in the different geographical regions and the different local cultures. There is no one size fits all, and while it is very good practice to keep one set of company values at the core of what we do, a litlle bit more attention should be paid to the local implementation of these values.
