Vantaggi
No pros. They prey on fresh college graduates, and put them in a field they have no business being in. This is basically a glorified construction job where they give you benefits. I guess the only pro is you do get benefits but that’s about it. You could slightly call it a resume builder but it’s not. The “skills” you learn here don’t help you unless you want to be a professional concrete tester. Your own peers and 2 of the supervisors are the only pros but you will never see them, you will always be on site.
Svantaggi
-no support from supervisors
-required to use personal vehicle
-mile reimbursement is .50 cents per mile- .20 cents below the current rate
-salary is 19.48 an hour
-expected to work overtime, weekends, overnight
-understaffed (intentionally to keep cost down)
-poor training
-work with antiquated testing methods (nuclear)
-98% on site
-encouraged (coerced) to use PTO on rainy days or quasi holidays
-physical strain
-once again- personal vehicle (this is NOT industry standard)
-no career growth
-deter people from moving up
-NOT A SCIENCE ROLE!!!!!! (Envi., geo, etc.)
