Vantaggi
Casual working environment, good location, friendly co-workers.
Svantaggi
Management lacked clear direction, making it difficult to work to achieve long term goals. They also expected instant results on projects that are inherently long-term. Goals would also change from day to day and I could never work on something long enough to actually make progress or see results.
Management also had a very "you vs. me" approach to discussion which made everyday conversations uncomfortable and impeded collaboration. Management also had an "I know best" approach to everything, making them micro-managerial and difficult to work with.
Ultimately, there wasn't one big thing that made this a bad working environment, but lots of little things. Everyone sat at the same table, and management would critique other employees in front of everyone else. I was one of few employees to take lunch breaks, and there was a lot of pressure to work through lunch/eat at your desk. There was also a sense of "enough is never enough" so even though you might be working 40+ hours a week, there were no clear goals so it was impossible to tell if you were meeting performance standards.
This might be an okay working environment for some people, but for me, it just wasn't.
