They take 5 months, only to further disappoint! My journey began in early February with an initial exploratory interview followed by multiple rounds with various managers. (More than 6 rounds and at least 20 telephonic calls). Each round focused on assessing my skills, experience, and problem-solving abilities. I received positive feedback throughout and was reassured about my strong candidacy for the role. Informal salary negotiations also took place, indicating a promising outcome. However, the process was marred by prolonged delays and unclear communication. Despite repeated follow-ups, I faced weeks of uncertainty. In late April, I was informed that they were considering other candidates, including internal applicants who, as per company policy, were given preference despite my qualifications. The lack of transparency and the constant delays severely impacted my mental strength and left me feeling demotivated. It was particularly disappointing given Gartner’s reputation for a great workplace culture. This experience contradicted that image and raised concerns about the fairness and clarity of their recruitment practices. To make matters worse, in June, I was contacted again by a member of the talent acquisition team, who offered me the same role. I was asked to express my continued interest and even bear my own relocation expenses via mail, I was told once again to wait for their decision. Eventually, I was advised to accept another job offer due to their indecision. This entire process was mentally exhausting and felt like a waste of time and effort. It is concerning to see such disorganization and lack of respect for candidates' time, especially during such challenging times in the job market.
