The people are lovely and my direct manager is always willing to provide coaching and feedback.
Svantaggi
Unfortunately I have felt totally misled from my interview process about management styles, culture and expectations. I am not new to fast paced SaaS sales environment but working at Hubspot was something else. The micromanagement around your day (how you spend each hour, how many activities you have completed) made me feel like a cog in a machine. There's an attempt to provide solid onboarding but a HUGE amount of staff leave during probation - either a choice of their own or are let go. Reps that have been at Hubspot longer are successful at hitting quota from relationships they have nurtured over the past 12 months , there seems to be little consideration into this with new reps. I have noticed the rate at which female reps are leaving is significantly higher than male reps. Comments were made by managers that although they 'cant tell me to work longer, it might be a good idea to spend my evenings finding new sales opportunities or reviewing calls'. Seeing new staff leave so soon is a clear indication of how things are going. The burnout here has been unlike anywhere else I have worked. Culture was key to my questions I asked during my hiring process and I was constantly told that it was a collaborative environment, and a place where people succeed and grow. Reps don't want to share with others their successes on how they their prospects out of fear of losing their edge. I've seen a huge amount of reps deactivated on slack overnight during their first 12 months. It creates a culture of fear amongst new hires and makes people worry about being able to keep a job during a cost of living crisis rather than focusing on just getting the job done.
