The expect you to do a lot of not paid overtime so a manager can get a bonus for finishing the job on time. No career opportunities, I have done a lot of overtime and they didn't appreciate it, it is nearly impossible to get a salary raise. A lot of managers with not technical knowledge, they estimate when the job have to be finished without having a clue of how to do it, don't even try to talk to them about using unit tests a new library or stuff like that, just do your job as soon as possible so they can get their bonus for finishing the project soon enough. At least in Madrid having a manager shouting at an employee is pretty normal.
