Sometimes it becomes difficult to cope with the quality of on job training. Resource allocation is based on the wish list of the dept manager rather what is your interest. It happens but not all times. Some long term assignment can kill the motivation and hence it becomes important to rotate people out of such assignments after couple of years. This becomes one of the reasons to leave the company. Opportunities with other Jacobs offices could be explored to enhance exposure to the staff.
