Manufacturing staff receive very little respect from their manufacturing managers. There is little room for progression after a certain point within manufacturing. Other areas of the business have roles which are deemed to warrant higher grades/ salaries while manufacturing staff hit a ceiling pretty quickly. The shift allowance is excellent however was fought for by the union and the threat of strike action. Managers seem to resent this shift allowance. Most recently they have decided to remove shifts from Manufacturing Team Leads which will be detrimental to output, put more pressure on senior engineers and destroy overall morale. They are completely out of touch with the effects of their actions and are only concerned with progressing their own career by any means necessary.
