First, let's start with the pay. Yes, this is a sales job where you have the opportunity to earn a commission but let's be real, $10/hr to start for a college graduate is ridiculous! In all fairness, your pay can increase to $15/hr and they'll even start you at $15/hr but only if you're confident enough to not settle for anything less. Unfortunately the majority of the kids working here are naive and are mesmerized by all the bells and whistles and promises of "what's to come." Management is not above exploiting this fact and recruits people by selling them on the hope that once the company makes it big, so will YOU. Empty promises and lack of true leadership. Sales training is nonexistent. Management's idea training is yelling at the top of their lungs, talking-a-million-miles-a-minute-because-as-long-as-I'm-LOUD-and-I-talk-so-quick-you're-too-confused-to-realize-I'm-not-really-saying-anything-of-real-value-but-because-I'm-up-here-and-you're-sitting-down-there-and-I'm-smiling-and-sound-like-I-know-what-I'm-talking-about-you're-gonna-think-I-really-do-know-what-I'm-saying-and-you're-going-to-feel-totally-motivated-just-because-I'm-about-to-say-the-same-exact-thing-I-said-yesterday-and-the-day-before-that-and-that-catch-phrase-is-go-go-GO-GOOOO-GOOOOOO-GOOOOOOOOOO! Another commonly used management style is scribbling illegibly on the whiteboard, dropping an F-bomb or two, and a commenting about how college is a waste of time if you're good at sales. There's no real growth potential. Every so often a new position is announced and offered for anyone interested to apply. In reality the one candidate was already pegged for the position, others need not apply. But they'll go through the motions to make it appear legit. Other times people will interview and mysteriously the positions never come to fruition. Leadership is truly a joke. You'll see them working a few minutes out of the day... in between their foosball games, Rubik's cube, internet surfing, online shopping, and texting. Although the free food in the kitchen is nice, it's usually gone by Wednesday. Not a surprise because the employees aren't making enough money to go out for lunch. If you're looking for a sales job, there are plenty of other places in San Diego where you can actually gain the skills and also have growth potential. Don't be fooled int he interview with the ruse of "Oh this is how start-ups work, you work your butt off for pennies because one day we'll all be rich." Run as fast as you can! Trust me, you're much better off going elsewhere. As a side note. You'll find positive reviews on this site and possibly others from earlier in the year. The positive reviews from April 2015 are from a promotion in the office. No joke. There were negative reviews that the company wanted lost among the positive ones so they offered us incentives. Little did we know those incentives were nothing but more empty promises... We won the opportunity to choose from a bag of items from the dollar store!
