Being a global company there is a lot of opportunity to do a lot of different work -- in the Home Office, in the field and internationally. It is hard to get bored with your job because there's always something else that needs to be worked on. If you see an opportunity to help impact the business, it's my experience that you can raise your hand and volunteer and chances are the answer will be Yes, go for it! In addition, McDonald's has a strong culture that is grounded in being good to it's people and treating everyone with respect.

Being a restaurant company, one in which almost half of our senior management started as crew in our restaurants, the most valued employees are those in the field whose work directly impacts the restaurants -- what we call the "line" employees. So, if you're one of those employees your advancement opportunities are more apparent and more readily available. If you're an employee in a corporate support function, your work and contributions are seemingly less valued and there's less upward mobility. On a much less important note, everybody thinks we get to eat at our restaurants for free and we don't.
