I have had the pleasure of working with some amazing people during my time with PointClickCare. There are so many people who are passionate about improving the lives of patients and willing to assist each other succeed. Beyond just their day jobs, so many people were willing to donate time and money to help those in need in the community. Overall, I feel like compensation is fair. Salary was pretty on par with similar positions with other companies. Medical/Dental/Vision/Retirement was decent and there were high and low deductible options.

When I joined PointClickCare, the culture felt incredibly supportive and mission-driven, like a non-profit focused on its employees. However, in the last year and a half-two years, this began to change. The focus became more about profit and company growth and less about employee well-being. As an employee that values culture over salary, it has been difficult to see. For quite a while, I felt like I was in a safe place as someone with disabilities. When rubber hits the road, however, it seems that the lower-level people management is not equipped to handle accommodation, even minor ones that do not have a defined negative impact on the business. I think a lot of this had to do with their inexperience with working with people with disabilities and a lack of support or guidance from upper management. Because of the attrition over the last year or so, workloads have been heavy. I felt like work was not matched up well to skills – there didn’t seem to be a lot of thought put into project ownership. And many times, projects were moved to different teams’ mid-flight. The timeline expectations did not change even when team ownership did, creating stress and friction between teams, management, and clients. Recently, there has been a lack of overall vision for the company beyond just growing. In product management, vision is the key to our success. It felt like the company’s performance started slipping a couple of years ago, so leadership responded with constant changes (like multiple reorganizations within a year, process changes regularly) without coaching the employees through it. This made it feel chaotic and decreased confidence in management. When asked directly about the vision, responses were vague and loaded with platitudes.

Working here was good at one point

Culture has changed drastically at the company. Leadership no longer cares about the people at the company and only focus on the finances/budgets and throwing more load onto the team members. The culture is now cold, changing fast, pushy, and it no longer reflects what we were even 2-3 years ago
