SW seems to work well with college students and around their school schedules. I've worked at three stores and never had a problem with it. Its a stable job. If you are somewhat a competent employee you have good job security.

Terrible pay. Deal with rude and disrespectful customers on a daily basis with a smile on your face and a "customer is always right" mentality. You are expected to do much more than anyone is capable of doing at one time with a understaffed store, i.e: answer phones, ring up customers, tint paint, answer questions, pick out a persons colors to paint their house b/c people don't have a mind of their own, unload trucks, stock, prepare orders, deliver orders, clean, and in some form or another pick up slack from lazy managers. Lowe's, Home Depot, and PPG all pay much better for the same job and require less from you. Stores are run by upper management they never step foot in the actually store and by guys that haven't touched a gallon of paint in 30 yrs and have completely lost touch with how things really work. Management only care about numbers not about satisfaction of employees or customers. Sherwin Williams keeps raising prices 3-4 times a year and you WILL be bitched at daily for it as if it is YOUR fault. warehouses are not air conditioned and during the summer while unloading products off pallets it gets very hot and you are constantly having to stop unpalletizing and run upfront to help a customer while very sweaty due to lack of store staffing b/c SW is trying increase the size of executives wallets. DONT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY! any good ratings i've read about this company is from people that have only worked for SW for a short time. they haven't realized that they wont get the promotion they were promised after 2 yrs of service. I've been with them for 6 yrs and cannot wait till college graduation.
