Coworkers are quality people with a real desire to do a good job. The position is meaningful in that it is important for the success of the other departments. The company platform is unique and always improving. Regardless of how long you work there, you cannot help but to learn new skills.

There is no real training program or manual for performance standards and the expectations of the job are never clear or achievable. Employees are often called out for failing in any number of areas of the job, regardless of whether they are realistic or even made clear. Employees are expected to be entrepreneurial, but are micromanaged in each aspect of the job. The expectations of doing a good job are often contradictory and what is said to be true one day often changes the next without any reason or notice. The pay for this position is far below what it should be, given the extreme expectations of the job and the skills required to fulfill them. There is obvious favoritism shown for the manager's friends in the department.

Boss is CTO. Great guy, very smart and passionate. Super understanding about the whole development process and will treat you as a fellow coder, not as a cog. The whole company is going through a big expansion. Lots of exciting new technologies to explore. Functional programming :)

This is a young company that is growing quickly. I have been here for under two years and our workforce has tripled. There are opportunities in nearly every department. There is a very small management structure so while there is not a wide range of title promotions available employees are rewarded and recognized for strong work. Employees are encouraged to work autonomously but within the guidelines of the company policies and standard operating procedures. It has not been my experience that individuals are micro-managed. The work in some areas is very detail orientated and managers work with staff to achieve and maintain high quality work. The company provides many breakfast, lunch and early leaving events to celebrate milestone achievements. The benefits include medical, dental, vision and 401(K). There is optional AFLAC coverage. Easy to get to by car or TriRail and easy (free) parking. Comfortable, casual, work environment.
