SIG consultants use an in-house developed toolkit to analyse the source code of client software systems and translate raw measurements into actionable advice to senior management. As such consultants encounter large numbers of companies, systems and technologies (programming languages) which enables them to become software experts with a broad view.

The company was taken over by outside investors one year ago. Last summer the new owners fired the entire upper management after which they inserted themselves (and their friends from previous takeovers) as the new upper and middle management. This and the accompanying strategy change ('exponential growth') has resulted in a dramatic culture change. People who have been working there for years are leaving in droves.
