Vantaggi
Office environment was friendly and there were lots of young people (20s and early 30s).
Svantaggi
There were lots of young people because the turnover is so high. There is lack of management since the manager is too busy with their own work and projects. The more capable you are, the more you take on and you just burn out. There are many people who are not competent/doesn't care much, and the good people with motivation/abilities end up doing a lot more to pick up the slack/fix the problems. There is a lot of emphasis on cost-saving and keeping the translation cost as low as possible (they don't accept any rate negotiation from linguists), while boasting the record-breaking profit every quarter. Meanwhile it doesn't translate to our motivation because nobody sees where the "profit" is going - pay is low, bonus is low, Office software is old etc. As a project manager you are under constant pressure - you are entirely dependent on outside vendors (translators) if you can make the deadline/budget. Many project managers send/check work e-mails at night at home, or when we wake up before having breakfast, just to check if the project is on track, since we deal with linguists in Asia/Europe etc.
