Thank you for your review.
We’re glad to see the strength of the engineering teams called out. The quality, collaboration and diversity of the people here is something we’re very proud of.
TryHackMe is a founder led, high ambition start-up, and that comes with an intense pace, strong opinions and direct leadership involvement. That model is intentional. It won’t suit everyone, but it’s also not accurate to suggest that people, accountability or delivery are treated as afterthoughts. Decisions, launches and direction are debated hard internally, even when that isn’t always visible outwardly.
We’re open about the fact that we’re still maturing as a business. Pay, benefits and career development are areas we continue to invest in as we scale, and progress in these areas doesn’t always move as quickly as everyone would like. That doesn’t mean they’re ignored, but it does mean trade offs exist in a growing company. As one example, we have doubled our bonus pool this year to $536k, which has been shared publicly by our founders.
We don’t expect or require sustained 50 hour working weeks, and burnout is not an accepted or encouraged outcome. Where teams or individuals experience pressure, that’s something we expect to be raised and addressed rather than normalised.
Start ups are not for everyone, and we’re clear about the reality of working in such a fast moving, founder driven environment. For those who thrive on pace, ownership and building through change, it will be a rewarding place to grow. For others, it may not be the right fit at the right time.
